Holly is tied to Danny Quinn. Holly's first marriage was to the actor Danny Quinn. Two years after their marriage in 1993, the couple separated. Jim Carrey met her in 1994 during an Ace Ventura Pet Detective auditions. The role was never offered to her, but they became friends as they were shooting Dumb and Dumber. They got married in the year 1996. Following a brief relationship, they divorced in 1997. The couple got married to Francis Greco who was born Canadian. In 2008, while married to Greco she was granted the status of the first Canadian citizen. The couple divorced in 2014. Holly is a resident of Oakville, Ontario, Canada along with her children. Holly along with her family members, including her father Grant and mother Mary, established the A Fund, at Hobart College as well as William Smith Colleges, in 1992 in memory of her brother Alexander. Holly recalled that Alexander was "a boy full of hopes and desires". After Alexander passed away at the age of 14, He had traveled extensively throughout Europe and Central America. He also lived in New York City as well as Los Angeles. This gave him an interest in architectural archaeology, archaeology and the history of the area.

Alaina Suddeth's parents are Kristy Suddeth from Rossville in Georgia and J. J. Suddeth. Alaina started singing at the age of three years old. She traveled across the country to Orlando, Florida, when she was ten years old to compete in the American Model and Talent Competition. She defeated 1500 competitors to take the title. Alaina was a part of the Georgia Country Gospel Music Association Children's Choir. Alaina was 12 when she was the first to make one of her several trips to Nashville. She performed in Tootsie's as well as other bars along Broadway. Alaina was the winner in 2009 in Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park's WinniSTAR young talent competition. Alaina, Holly Witherow's cousin with a brain cancer tumor, inspired her begin singing. Alaina was a CiC's Pizza employee before joining Idol. She graduated from Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe Senior High School located in Fort Oglethorpe Georgia.
